We don’t know the why.” The incident took place at The Quest, located at 416 24th Street South, on the morning of Friday, May 24. Prompt response from patrons and law enforcement personnel led to immediate aid being administered to both Gady and Brown until Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service arrived on the scene.
Unfortunately, Brown succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Gady was rushed to UAB Hospital, where he fought for his life for two days before ultimately passing away. Investigative teams recovered two firearms from the vicinity of the shooting area within the nightclub, shedding light on the violent confrontation that took place.
Fitzgerald emphasized the importance of gathering factual information to bring closure to the case, stating, “We know Terrell and Shane shot each other. But what we don’t know is who was the aggressor, and who was merely reacting.” Birmingham police have committed to keeping the case open until all lingering questions are answered, ensuring justice for both families affected by the tragic incident.
