Following a tragic hit-and-run incident in Pune earlier today, one suspect has been apprehended, and the suspect’s vehicle has been seized by authorities.

The deceased victim has been identified as Samadhan Kohli, while the injured individual has been identified as Sanjog Shyam Shinde.
The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Siddharth Raju Kengar, also known as Gorakh, is currently in custody.
The collision occurred in the Bopodi area of Pune at 1:30 a.m. today, involving a four-wheeler striking two marshals on a motorcycle. Tragically, one of the marshals lost their life, while the other is receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
Reports indicate that the injured marshal is in stable condition under medical supervision.
Earlier today, DCP Vijay Magar confirmed that the vehicle involved in the incident has been located, although the driver remains at large.
An ongoing investigation into the case is currently underway.
Police sources have revealed that the car is registered to a political party leader based in Palghar, with his son reportedly present in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
The deceased victim has been identified as Kaveri Nakhwa, a 45-year-old resident of Worli Koliwada. Her husband sustained injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment at a medical facility.
Rajendra Singh Rajawat and Rajesh Shah, the father of the main suspect, have been arrested by authorities and are scheduled to appear in court today.
Meanwhile, the main suspect remains at large following the incident. Law enforcement has deployed six teams to locate and apprehend the suspect.
Sources suggest that both suspects are being held for non-compliance with police directives.
Earlier on Sunday, Worli police announced the recovery and confiscation of the vehicle in Bandra, stating, “Worli Police recovered and confiscated the BMW car in Mumbai.”
Police officials also disclosed that the incident occurred at 5:30 a.m., resulting in the loss of a life and injury to another individual. The collision occurred as the couple was riding a motorcycle past Atria Mall in Worli.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has pledged to take strict action against those responsible for the hit-and-run incident.
“The hit-and-run incident in Mumbai is a tragic event. I have been in contact with law enforcement officials. Anyone found guilty will face consequences. We believe in equal treatment for all,” stated CM Shinde.
