Assault Involving Two Men in Meiners Oaks

In a violent altercation late last month at a residence in Meiners Oaks, two men were injured, and their attackers have been apprehended, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

The two assailants, aged 18 and 20, reportedly visited the home of a 40-year-old man in the 800 block of El Roblar Drive on the evening of June 26 to confront and assault him. The 18-year-old allegedly threatened the occupant with death and swung a machete at him, while the 20-year-old assaulted a 30-year-old man who intervened.

Law enforcement managed to subdue and arrest both attackers, who were treated for minor injuries along with the victims. The 18-year-old faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats, conspiracy, and drug possession. He remains in custody at the main county jail in Ventura on a $40,000 bond.

The 20-year-old was arrested for battery and conspiracy and has since been released from jail. Updates on these cases may follow.
