PEORIA (25News Now) – A man is currently receiving medical treatment in the hospital following a shooting incident that took place in the early hours of Sunday in Peoria.

According to the Peoria Police Department, the incident occurred just after 3:30 am near the front end of the Hurlburt House apartment building. Upon receiving a report of the shooting, police officers swiftly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officials observed a vehicle leaving the area where the shooting had taken place. Subsequently, a traffic stop was conducted, revealing that the driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old man, had sustained a gunshot wound to his buttocks.

The injured individual was promptly transported to a local medical facility, where he is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
