A Florida man, identified as Michael Fleming, has been arrested and is facing felony robbery charges after attempting to withdraw just one cent from a bank in Sumter County. The incident occurred at the Chase Bank on US-441 in Lady Lake shortly before 2 pm on a Saturday, according to an arrest affidavit from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon entering the bank, Fleming filled out a withdrawal slip for one cent and handed it to a teller. When informed by the teller that such a small amount could not be withdrawn, Fleming reportedly made a concerning remark, saying, “So you want me to say the other word?” This led to the teller alerting law enforcement due to fears of potential violence.

Deputies quickly arrived at the scene and found Fleming still inside the bank. He was promptly taken into custody by the authorities and transported to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office for further questioning.
