Yadgir, 8th July: A disturbing incident has come to light in Karnataka’s Yadgir district, where a minor girl allegedly threw a three-month-old baby girl into a well after her love proposal was rejected by the baby’s uncle. The tragic incident has left the community in shock and disbelief.
Victim Identified as Meenakshi
The infant victim, identified as Meenakshi, was the beloved daughter of Nagesh and Chittemma, a couple residing in Ambedkar Layout in Yadgir city. The accused minor girl, who lived in a neighbouring house, had developed romantic feelings for the baby’s paternal uncle, Yallappa.
According to the police investigation, the accused girl confessed her love to Yallappa, but he turned down her advances. Despite his rejection, the minor girl persisted in expressing her affections towards him. This rejection reportedly triggered a fit of rage in the accused, leading to the heinous act.
Tragic Incident Unfolds
On the fateful day of 6th June, when no one was around, the accused girl seized the opportunity to take the baby girl and maliciously threw her into the well. The family began searching for the missing baby, and the accused even joined the search party, feigning concern and diverting suspicion away from herself.
