BIG LAKE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A devastating car accident in Skagit County has resulted in the untimely death of a 19-year-old teenager from Mount Vernon.
Details of the Accident
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) reported that the tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning when the young driver, Jeffery Delano, was travelling southbound on SR 9. As he approached Big Lake, Delano’s vehicle veered across the center line and collided with a tree.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Delano was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. There were no passengers in the car, and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities have not yet disclosed whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the fatal crash. The WSP is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the accident and any contributing factors.
