Accident – Death – Obituary News : Plans are progressing for the development of a Publix Super Market and additional retail establishments in the master-planned community of Silverleaf in St. Johns County. The project, known as Silverleaf Market Parcel 23C, will feature a 55,701-square-foot grocery store that aligns with the new prototype of the popular grocery chain.

The grocery store, identified as a Publix in the St. Johns County Stormwater Management Plan prepared by civil engineer England-Thims & Miller Inc., is part of a larger commercial development in Silverleaf. England-Thims & Miller Inc. has a history of collaborating with Publix on various projects, including 25 other locations for the grocer.
A site plan for the proposed Silverleaf Publix shows a 55,701-square-foot store, along with a 2,100-square-foot liquor store and two retail stores totaling 13,700 square feet. The development also includes plans for 384 parking spaces on the 24.7-acre property. Additionally, there are six out parcels totaling 40,000 square feet that will be developed at a later date, as outlined in the application.
The grocery store is set to be located at the northwest corner of Silverleaf Parkway and St. Johns Parkway, situated north of Silverleaf Parkway and west of St. Johns Parkway near the Reverie 55+ age-restricted housing development. While Publix spokesperson Hannah Herring confirmed in an email on May 15 that the company did not have a signed lease for the property, the project continues to move forward.
In a similar development planned for Clay County in Lake Asbury, England-Thims & Miller submitted plans to the county’s Development Review Committee on March 26. The committee reviewed the plans on April 11, though there have been no further updates on the project according to the county’s website.

In May 2023, Publix Super Markets Inc., headquartered in Lakeland, announced its decision to transition its original organic and natural foods-focused GreenWise Market concept to traditional Publix stores. Herring mentioned that the eight GreenWise Market locations would be converted to traditional stores over time, with an expansion in store size from upwards of 49,000 square feet to 55,701 square feet.
