A 62-year-old man from Manitowoc, identified as Calvin Eis, has been charged with multiple offenses after allegedly stabbing a woman on the Fourth of July in Two Rivers. Eis is currently held at the Manitowoc County Jail on a bond of $500,000.

The charges against Eis include attempted homicide, aggravated battery, strangulation/suffocation, and possession of a scheduled II narcotic, as reported by officials on Monday.

According to a news release from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to a residence in Two Rivers on July 4 following a report of a female victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered two individuals with stab wounds. The 51-year-old woman was found in the backyard with multiple injuries, while Eis was located inside the house with a stab wound to his abdomen, which was determined to be self-inflicted.

Both victims were taken to receive medical treatment via ambulance, and Eis was subsequently taken into custody by the authorities.

The Sheriff’s Office has assured the public that this incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the community. An investigation into the matter is currently underway.
