Isaiah Hazel : Tragic Morning Crash in Prince George’s County: 3 Dead

UPPER MARLBORO, MD—A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of this morning on Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue, resulting in the loss of three lives in a high-speed collision. The Maryland State Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash that occurred.

The victims have been identified as Isaiah Hazel, aged 23, and Anthony Lytton, Jr., aged 24, both residents of Upper Marlboro, as well as Khyree Jackson, aged 24, from Waldorf. Hazel and Jackson were pronounced dead at the scene, while Lytton tragically succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center.

The collision took place just after 3:14 AM near the intersection with Presidential Parkway and involved a maroon Dodge Charger driven by Hazel, a silver Infiniti Q50, and a silver Chevrolet Impala. Reports suggest that the Infiniti, operated by 23-year-old Cori Clingman of Upper Marlboro, was changing lanes at a high rate of speed, leading to the collision with the Charger and subsequently the Impala.

Following the impact, the Charger veered off the road, striking multiple tree stumps before coming to a halt. Clingman and her two passengers, along with the driver of the Impala, escaped unharmed.

The northbound lanes of Route 4 were shut down for several hours before reopening around 10:20 AM. Initial findings point to the possible involvement of alcohol in the crash, adding a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation.

WORTON, MD—A fire broke out at the Crea Fill Fibers Corporation warehouse on 10200 Worton Road late Wednesday night, with preliminary investigations pointing to an accidental cause.

The incident occurred at 10:15 PM at the one-story commercial warehouse. The Chestertown Volunteer Fire Department was promptly on the scene, with 40 firefighters working to control the blaze within 40 minutes. The fire originated in an industrial shredder due to a malfunction.

While the structure itself did not suffer any damage, the contents of the warehouse sustained losses estimated at $60,000. Fortunately, there were no injuries or deaths reported. The warehouse\’s fire alarm system functioned as intended, triggering the sprinkler system which effectively controlled the fire until additional firefighting forces arrived.

The incident did not lead to any arrests, and the area has been secured as the investigation continues.

FEDERALSBURG, MD—A significant fire erupted at the Federalsburg Manor Apartments located at 1005 Routzahn Lane on Thursday at 7:25 PM, resulting in substantial damage and displacement of residents.

The Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company responded to the blaze, which originated in a bedroom of the two-story apartment building. Thirty firefighters managed to control the fire within 30 minutes. While the building was equipped with smoke alarms that activated, there were no sprinkler systems installed.

No injuries or deaths were reported; however, the fire caused an estimated $400,000 in damages to the structure. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Initially discovered by an occupant who attempted to extinguish the bedroom fire unsuccessfully, the situation escalated, leading to the displacement of fourteen people. The American Red Cross is currently providing assistance to those affected.
