In a devastating incident on Friday, two individuals lost their lives while four others sustained injuries in a fatal collision that occurred on Highway 4, just seven kilometers south of Battleford.

The collision involved a motorhome and an SUV, prompting a swift response from officers at approximately 3:15 p.m.

Details of the Incident

Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP officers discovered that the driver of the SUV and one passenger had tragically succumbed to their injuries. The deceased have been identified as a 29-year-old woman and a six-month-old boy, both residents of Red Pheasant First Nation. Their next of kin have been duly informed of the heartbreaking news.

Additionally, an adult male passenger in the SUV was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, while a male child was airlifted by STARS due to serious injuries sustained in the collision.

Recovery and Ongoing Investigation

The adult male driver and adult female passenger of the motorhome were also transported to the hospital, although their injuries were deemed non-life threatening by RCMP officials.

Following the tragic incident, Highway 4 was temporarily closed but has since been reopened to traffic. However, RCMP authorities continue to diligently investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine the cause and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
