Hendersonville, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Hendersonville Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the tragic death of a missing teenage girl whose remains were discovered earlier this week in Hendersonville.

Authorities were alerted to the situation when a Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract worker stumbled upon the remains while picking up trash along the road on Wednesday, July 3. The discovery was made on a small timber line near State Route 386 (Vietnam Veterans Boulevard) close to New Shackle Island Road.

The victim was later identified as 17-year-old Trinity Bostic on Friday, July 5. She had been reported missing from Macon County on Saturday, June 29.

Following a week of intensive investigation, authorities announced on Saturday, July 6 that a 17-year-old from Westmoreland had been arrested in connection with Trinity Bostic’s murder. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, is currently in custody at the Sumner County Jail facing a charge of first-degree murder.
