POLK, Ohio (WOIO) – A harrowing incident unfolded in Polk, Ohio in the early hours of Saturday morning as three residents narrowly escaped a devastating house fire, thanks to the timely activation of smoke alarms. The Polk Jackson Perry Fire District has confirmed that the occupants of the residence on Kinata Court in Cinnamon Lake were alerted to the danger by their security system, which detected smoke in the garage.

The emergency call reporting the fire was made to the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 1:35 a.m. The quick response of the authorities ensured that the two adults and one child inhabiting the property were able to evacuate without sustaining any injuries.

Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters were met with heavy fire conditions within the main residence, as well as fully engulfed flames emanating from the detached garage.
