A 39-year-old mother from Rochester Hills, who was one of the nine victims wounded in the tragic splash pad shooting on June 15, has finally been discharged from the hospital.

After almost a month of medical care, the woman was able to return home to her family on Friday. She had sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the incident.

According to the authorities, the mother had bravely tried to shield her children from the gunman during the shooting, resulting in her sustaining serious injuries.

Her 8-year-old son, who also suffered severe injuries in the attack, was discharged from the hospital on June 28. Additionally, her 4-year-old son, who was also injured, had been released earlier.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard expressed relief that all the shooting victims had now been released from the hospital. However, he acknowledged that the road to recovery, both physically and psychologically, would be long and challenging for the victims. The Sheriff reassured that support would continue to be provided to the victims and their families.

In total, seven adults and two children were injured in the tragic incident. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed by the authorities.

The perpetrator of the shooting has been identified as Michael William Nash, a 42-year-old resident of Shelby Township. Nash tragically took his own life after law enforcement officers surrounded the mobile home that he shared with his mother.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, as confirmed by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
