JOLIET, IL — The tragic incident that occurred on westbound I-80 near I-55 on Friday morning has been identified as a fatal crash involving a 44-year-old woman from Momence, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.
The victim, identified as Jeanna St. Peter, lost her life in the devastating collision and was pronounced dead at the scene on I-80.
Illinois State Police reported that troopers were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle fatal crash on I-80, just west of I-55, shortly after 7 a.m. on Friday morning.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are working to determine the cause of the tragic incident. The loss of Jeanna St. Peter has left the community in mourning, as friends and family come to terms with the sudden and unexpected loss.
