Loudon, Tennessee (WVLT/Gray News) – A tragic incident unfolded at the Tennessee National Marina when emergency response teams were called to the scene of a reported drowning. The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency confirmed that a 75-year-old man lost his life in the waters of Watts Bar Lake.
The victim, identified as James Doyle Frost of Knoxville, was attempting to secure his vessel to the dock when he accidentally fell into the lake. Unfortunately, he did not resurface, leading to a desperate search and rescue operation.
Authorities deployed multiple resources to locate and recover Frost’s body from the depths of the lake. A TWRA investigator utilised a remote operated vehicle (ROV) to pinpoint the exact location of the victim underwater.
With the assistance of the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office’s dive rescue team, Frost’s body was successfully retrieved from the water just after 9 p.m. on Thursday evening.
