The heartbreaking news of a Cape Coral teenager, who went missing in the Gulf waters off the coast of Sanibel Island on Tuesday, has come to a devastating conclusion as his body was discovered.

Sanibel Police Chief William Dalton released a statement on Friday night confirming that the remains of the missing teenager, identified as 17-year-old Isaac Breese, were found on Thursday afternoon.

The search for the teenager began on Tuesday after reports of distressed swimmers at Blind Pass were called in to 911. While rescuers were able to save two swimmers, they were informed that one person was still missing, later identified as Isaac Breese. Multiple agencies immediately launched a search operation that lasted until Thursday.

Chief William Dalton expressed his gratitude to all the agencies involved in the search efforts for Isaac. He urged the community to keep Isaac and his family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

The search efforts were a collaborative effort involving the Sanibel Police Department, Sanibel Fire & Rescue District, Captiva Island Fire Control District, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Coast Guard, and several other agencies.
