Accident – Death – Obituary News : A 29-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a teenager whose dismembered body was discovered near a lake in Pennsylvania last week. DaShawn Watkins, 29, has been accused of fatally stabbing 14-year-old Pauly Likens Jr., who was last seen by a friend on the night of June 22.

According to reports from NBC affiliate WFMJ, Likens’ remains were found near Shenango River Lake three days after she went missing. Watkins now faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated assault, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence, as per court records reviewed by HuffPost.
Likens reportedly left a friend’s home at around 9:30 pm on June 22 and posted a photo on Snapchat at 2:30 am the following day. The friend reached out to Likens, who initially responded but then stopped replying. Surveillance footage from the park where Likens was last seen showed her walking slowly and pausing, indicating she may have been waiting for someone.
Further surveillance footage revealed a vehicle pulling up to Likens’ location, with the driver later identified as Watkins. The video allegedly shows Watkins struggling to carry a large duffel bag. Police noted that Watkins made multiple trips from his apartment on June 24, carrying bags and garbage bags. Likens was reported missing on June 25, the same day her remains were discovered.
The cause of Likens’ death was determined to be sharp force trauma. Police found blood throughout Watkins’ apartment and a receipt for a saw with exchangeable blades. During questioning, Watkins claimed to have met someone on Grindr but could not recall if he had visited Likens’ last known location due to poor memory.

Watkins is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on July 17. At this time, no attorney is listed under his records. Pamela Ladner, president of the LGBTQIA+ Alliance Shenango Valley, revealed that Likens was transgender and believes her daughter’s murder was a hate crime. Authorities are still in the process of recovering additional body parts in the investigation..
