In a shocking turn of events, a woman has been arrested for allegedly attempting to pass suspected drug-soaked papers to an inmate at the magistrate’s office in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania.

The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect as 37-year-old April Wright, a resident of Swissvale. Surveillance footage captured Wright entering Judge Anthony DeLuca’s office on Monday, where she passed through the metal detector before heading to the bathroom.

Wright reportedly spent a few minutes in the restroom before exiting the building. Shortly after her departure, inmate Ryan Den-Zel Perry, believed to be Wright’s boyfriend, was escorted into the office by constables.

Constables conducted a safety sweep of the area before allowing Den-Zel Perry access to the restroom. During the sweep, a missing ceiling tile caught the attention of one of the constables, leading to the discovery of an envelope containing four blank sheets of paper.

Following the incident, Penn Hills police interviewed Wright, who allegedly confessed to receiving the envelope the day before and concealing it in the ceiling. Initial findings from the Allegheny County Crime Lab suggest that the papers had been tampered with using synthetic cannabinoids.

As a result of the investigation, Wright is now facing a total of eight charges, six of which are classified as felonies. She has been taken into custody at the Allegheny County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 15.
