A man in Summerville, South Carolina, tragically lost his life during a Fourth of July celebration after a firework accident turned fatal. Authorities reported that the man, identified as 41-year-old Allen Ray McGrew, suffered severe injuries after igniting a large firework device and placing it on top of his head.

The incident occurred at a neighbourhood block party, where McGrew was in attendance. Eyewitnesses at the scene tried to intervene to prevent the tragic outcome, but unfortunately, their efforts were in vain.

When emergency services arrived just after 10:20 p.m., they found McGrew lying on the road with critical injuries.
