Adam Santos : “Kaʻū Human Remains Investigation: Police Probe”

(BIVN) – Authorities are currently conducting an investigation following the discovery of partially buried human remains in a vacant lot within a Kaʻū subdivision.

The grim find was made on Tuesday on Tiki Lane in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision, prompting the Hawai’i Police Department to launch an unattended death investigation.

Details of the Investigation

According to a news release from the Hawaiʻi Police Department, the Area II Criminal Investigation Section was alerted to the situation on July 2, 2024, after receiving information from an anonymous source. The source indicated that a deceased individual, believed to be the victim of a reported missing person case, was partially buried on a vacant lot in Ocean View.

Upon receiving this tip, Kaʻū Patrol officers swiftly responded to the scene on Tiki Lane and discovered the body of a male lying face down, covered with dirt and rocks. Area II CIS detectives were called in to assist and observed severe head injuries on the uncovered body.

The deceased male was subsequently identified as 51-year-old Adam Santos, who had been reported missing on June 30, 2024. Santos’ next of kin has been notified, and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
