Renowned Manitoba Metis musician Ray St. Germain, affectionately known as ‘Winnipeg’s Elvis,’ will be honoured in a celebration of life this weekend in Winnipeg. The music legend passed away late last month at the age of 83 after battling Parkinson’s disease.

The celebration of life event, scheduled for Saturday at the Calvary Temple on Hargrave Street, aims to pay tribute to Ray’s lasting legacy in the music industry.

Reflecting on her late husband’s impact, Glory St. Germain shared in an interview with CTV Morning Live that the outpouring of support following Ray’s passing has been overwhelming. She expressed gratitude for the heartfelt tributes pouring in from around the globe, highlighting the profound influence music has on connecting people.

“Music has the power to evoke a range of emotions, from tears to laughter. When Ray sang, you could feel it resonate with every listener,” Glory remarked. “His music touched hearts and brought people together in a way that words cannot fully capture.”
