A tragic incident occurred in Tiruvarur district last week, resulting in the untimely death of a 15-year-old boy who was electrocuted. The incident took place when the hoardings the boy was moving accidentally came into contact with an electric transformer, leading to the fatal outcome.
The young victim, identified as R. Madhanraj from Kottagacheri village in Thirurameswaram in Koothanallur taluk of Tiruvarur district, was rushed to the Mannargudi government hospital. However, despite efforts to save him, he tragically succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, as confirmed in an official release.
Condolences and Support from Chief Minister M.K. Stalin
Upon learning of the devastating incident, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased teenager. In a show of support and empathy, he announced a solatium of ₹2 lakh to be provided to the grieving family to assist them during this difficult time.
In addition to the financial support extended to the bereaved family, Chief Minister Stalin also directed the authorities to ensure that proper medical treatment is provided to another victim of the accident. The injured individual, identified as 19-year-old M. Ruban, is currently receiving medical care, with the Chief Minister approving a compensation of ₹50,000 from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund to aid in his recovery.
