A 15-year-old victim identified in fatal Castaic crash
Authorities have identified 15-year-old Quinell Shelton as one of the three individuals tragically killed in a devastating crash in Castaic on Wednesday. The other victims were identified as Nylah Blanchard, 16, and Brian White, 22, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. when a Toyota Camry, driven by 19-year-old Taylor Roberson from Redlands, crashed into a tree on The Old Road just south of Parker Road in Castaic. Officer Josh Greengard, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office, reported that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision.
“The impact was so severe that the vehicle split in half, ejecting three passengers,” Greengard stated. “The car then continued and collided with a light pole before catching fire.”
Roberson managed to extricate herself from the driver’s seat, but tragically, the three passengers did not survive. Roberson sustained injuries in the crash and was subsequently arrested for felony DUI causing death.

Shelton had a passion for sports, particularly football and basketball, and enjoyed spending time with friends. The fundraiser aims to support his memorial and assist his grieving family during this difficult time.
Friends and family of Shelton are urging the community to refrain from drinking and driving, emphasizing the devastating consequences that can result from such actions.
