Accident – Death – Obituary News : A shocking wave of violence has swept through New Jersey, leaving a man shot in the face and two children stabbed in separate incidents. The incidents have left the community reeling and authorities scrambling to bring the perpetrators to justice.

In one harrowing incident, a man in Jackson Township was viciously beaten and shot in the face while he was sitting in a car outside a home. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Michael J. Vulpis, 26, of Freehold, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and being a certain person not to possess a weapon or ammunition in connection with the assault on June 27. The victim was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was treated and later released.

The attack unfolded when the victim and a woman were sitting in a parked vehicle outside a home. A blue sedan pulled up and parked in front of the vehicle, blocking it in. Two men got out of the sedan, approached the vehicle, and began assaulting the victim. Vulpis, one of the assailants, shot the victim in the face before fleeing the scene. Thankfully, investigators were able to track down Vulpis and he is currently being held at the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.

In another disturbing incident, a mother and her two young children were stabbed and critically injured in an apartment in East Orange. The family was attacked in the early hours of the morning, leaving the woman and her 1-year-old and 3-year-old children in critical condition at University Hospital in Newark. The woman, who had lived in the building her whole life, was left fighting for her life along with her children.

Meanwhile, in Hamilton Township, a landlord was stabbed to death by a tenant in a chilling act of violence. Solomon Lonner, 49, from Lakewood, NJ, was found inside his residence with multiple stab wounds. Michael Carney, 39, of Mays Landing, was charged with murder and weapons offenses in connection with Lonner’s death. The cause and manner of Lonner’s death are pending an autopsy by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

Adding to the string of violent incidents, a man was slashed in the head in Paterson in the early hours of July 4. The man was discovered with a laceration behind his right ear in the area of Mercer and Lafayette Street. The injury was deemed non-life threatening, but the victim was unable to communicate with police about what had transpired.

These horrific incidents serve as a grim reminder of the violence that can erupt in communities and the urgent need for increased vigilance and security measures. Authorities are working tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of residents in New Jersey..
