Accident – Death – Obituary News : Logan Township police have apprehended two individuals suspected of targeting elderly citizens in a series of robberies at Aldi Supermarkets spanning from Kentucky to Pennsylvania. The arrests were made on Wednesday following a tip-off received by Blair County Communications/911 regarding the suspects’ location at the Dollar Tree on 700 Valley View Blvd.

Upon swift response from officers, the suspects were found operating a rental vehicle. The two individuals, identified as Luz Dary Fandino Rodriguez, 48, from Colombia, and Hanster Sepulveda, 37, from Puerto Rico, were promptly detained. They attempted to deceive law enforcement by presenting false Puerto Rico driver’s licenses, but their true identities were uncovered through Live-Scan fingerprint technology at the Altoona Police Department.

During the investigation, another incident was brought to light by Blair County Communications, involving a recent theft of a wallet at Weis Market, 275 Park Hills Plaza. The victim reported that one of her cards had been used at Target, resulting in a substantial charge of nearly $1,000. It was later confirmed that Rodriguez and Sepulveda were the culprits behind this theft as well, prior to their apprehension at the Dollar Tree.

Following their arrest, both suspects were taken to Blair County Prison and were arraigned the next morning before Magisterial District Judge Matthew Dunio. With bail set at $200,000 each, they were unable to post bail and were remanded to the Blair County Prison.

Rodriguez is facing multiple charges, including a felony charge of unauthorized use of an access device, three felony counts of criminal conspiracy related to unauthorized use of an access device, misdemeanor charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and providing false identification, along with a summary charge of carrying a false identification card. Sepulveda faces similar charges along with an additional misdemeanor count of possessing an instrument of crime.

Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for July 17 before Magisterial District Judge Matthew Dunio.
