Two Men Fatally Shot in Separate Incidents in Orange County on 4th of July
Tragedy struck Orange County on the 4th of July as two men lost their lives in separate shooting incidents, according to deputies.
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities have apprehended a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of two men in Orange County on Independence Day, law enforcement officials confirmed.
Leandro Correa, aged 48, has been charged with first-degree murder and is currently detained without bail at the Orange County jail.
Additional charges are anticipated as the investigation progresses, detectives stated.
The initial shooting occurred at approximately 2:07 p.m. on Sailfish Street in the 5200 block. Deputies responded to reports of a man, later identified as 45-year-old Jose Carrasquillo, who had sustained gunshot wounds. Tragically, Carrasquillo succumbed to his injuries at a nearby medical facility.

The second shooting took place at 2:20 p.m. on Appaloosa Road in the 2700 block. Another male victim, identified as 27-year-old Eduardo Soto, was found with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) has linked both incidents, indicating a potential connection between the two.
Detectives are working diligently to uncover further details surrounding the tragic events.
