Authorities are currently conducting an investigation following an incident of an early morning shooting in Surrey, British Columbia, which resulted in one man sustaining serious injuries on Friday.
The shooting was reported at approximately 5:30 a.m. outside the Home Depot located near Scott Road and 72 Avenue in Surrey.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered the victim with a gunshot wound in the parking lot and promptly transported him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention due to the severity of his injuries.
The serious crimes unit of the local RCMP detachment has assumed control of the investigation into the shooting incident.

In a statement released to the press, Cpl. James Mason stated, “Evidence-gathering is still ongoing, but preliminary findings suggest that this was a targeted and isolated incident.”
On the day of the shooting, the parking lot was cordoned off with police tape, and officers from both the Surrey RCMP and the Surrey Police Service were present at the scene to conduct the investigation.
Investigators appeared to be concentrating their efforts on two specific areas – one outside the Home Depot loading bay and the other at the rear of the movie theatre within the Strawberry Hill Shopping Centre.
The Surrey RCMP is urging anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or possesses dash-camera footage of the incident to contact them promptly at 604-599-0502 to provide crucial information that could aid in the investigation.
