Jared A. Thrapp : Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash in Taney County: 1 Dead, 5 Injured

A tragic three-vehicle accident took place on July 3, 2024, near Bull Creek in Taney County, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries, as reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred at around 6:17 p.m. on Highway F, just a quarter mile east of Bull Creek.

The vehicles involved in the crash were a 2015 Ford F550, driven by 21-year-old Austin L. Battles from Summerville, Georgia, a 2004 GMC Envoy, driven by 18-year-old Austin M. Gard from Branson, Missouri, and a 2008 Ford E350 van, driven by 45-year-old Jared A. Thrapp from Forsyth, Missouri.

The collision unfolded when Battles lost control of the Ford F550, veered across the centerline, and collided with the left side of the GMC Envoy and the front of the Ford E350 van. All three vehicles then slid off the right side of the eastbound lanes.

Tragically, Jared A. Thrapp was pronounced dead at the scene by Taney County Coroner Elijah Goodwin. His 38-year-old wife, Heather A. Thrapp, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Additionally, a 7-year-old boy who was also in the Ford E350 van suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the same hospital for treatment.

Austin M. Gard, the driver of the GMC Envoy, along with his two passengers, a 17-year-old girl from Reeds Spring, Missouri, and another 7-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries and were transported to Cox Hospital in Branson, Missouri for medical care.

The Ford F550 driven by Austin L. Battles sustained significant damage and was towed away by Jim’s Auto Body. Fortunately, Battles, who was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, did not report any injuries.

This devastating incident marks the 48th traffic fatality for Troop D in 2024.
