The incident took place during the commencement of the Stadium of Fire festivities at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, which serves as the home football stadium for Brigham Young University, as reported by KUTV-TV.

The precise count and severity of the injuries at the yearly holiday celebration were not immediately disclosed, stated Provo Police Department spokesperson Janna-Lee Holland.

Footage shared on social media exhibits individual fireworks veering off course from the cluster launched into the sky above the field and landing among rows of attendees seated in the stands at the open-air venue.

Following a brief pause, the BYU Police Department granted permission for organisers to proceed with the event, which showcased a performance by the Jonas Brothers, according to KUTV.
