Authorities in Nairobi are on the lookout for individuals believed to be responsible for the tragic death of 24-year-old Ian Omondi in the Ruai area. Omondi tragically succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention at a local hospital following an altercation on July 4.
Reports indicate that Omondi was involved in a dispute with unidentified individuals at a local drinking establishment, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. Tragically, Omondi sustained a fatal stab wound to his buttocks during the altercation, leading to severe bleeding and ultimately, his untimely demise.
Medical staff at Mama Lucy Hospital, where Omondi was taken for treatment, confirmed that the young man had lost a significant amount of blood, resulting in his tragic passing. Despite efforts to save his life, Omondi could not be revived.
Law enforcement officials handling the case have revealed that no arrests have been made thus far, and efforts to apprehend the suspects involved in Omondi’s death are ongoing. The deceased’s body has since been transferred to the morgue pending a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Tragic Discovery in Vihiga County
In a separate incident in Cheptaywa village, located within the Gavudunyi sub-location in Vihiga County, the lifeless body of 46-year-old Nelson Galuktwa was found abandoned on the roadside, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Galuktwa’s remains exhibited signs of foul play, including a laceration on the left side of his face, visible bruising around his neck, and blood seeping from his mouth. According to statements provided by his family members to the authorities, Galuktwa had left his home in the company of three friends on the night of July 2 but failed to return.
Tragically, Galuktwa’s lifeless body was discovered approximately 50 metres away from his residence the following day, prompting a full-scale investigation by the police into his suspicious death. The authorities are treating the case as a murder investigation, as they work tirelessly to piece together the events leading up to Galuktwa’s tragic demise.
