Authorities in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, have reported that seven individuals, including children, sustained injuries during a shocking incident on the Fourth of July. The unfortunate event occurred when a man discharged birdshot into his neighbour’s celebratory gathering, causing chaos and confusion.
The incident took place at approximately 9:30 p.m. in Ocean Springs, prompting a swift response from law enforcement officials. As a result, several intersections had to be closed off to facilitate the ensuing investigation.
Police Chief Ryan Lemaire of Ocean Springs revealed that the injuries sustained by the victims, which included children, necessitated immediate medical attention. Some of the injured individuals were transported to the hospital via ambulance, while others opted to seek medical treatment using personal vehicles.
It was disclosed that the suspected perpetrator behind the shooting is a 68-year-old man named Henry William Andray. Allegedly, Andray fired a round of birdshot into the midst of the neighbour’s festive gathering, causing panic and distress among the attendees. Birdshot, commonly found in shotgun shells, contains small pellets that can cause harm upon impact.
