CHICAGO (CBS) — Tragedy struck on Chicago’s Northwest Side as a man lost his life while handling a firework on Thursday night. The incident occurred in an alley located in the 3000 block of North Kostner Avenue around 10 p.m.

The victim, identified as 34-year-old Earl Lory by the Medical Examiner’s Office, suffered fatal trauma to his body while handling the firework and tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
