A preliminary hearing for a Parker man who reportedly fled from police in Rimersburg Borough was waived for court on Tuesday morning. 39-year-old Dustin Hawk, of Parker, faced criminal charges including Flight to Avoid Apprehension/Trial/Punish and Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot, both misdemeanors. The case has been transferred to the Clarion County Court of Common Pleas.

Hawk is currently out on bail, which was changed from monetary to unsecured. The reason for this change was listed as “Per discussion with MDJ, PD, and DA.”

Case Details:

On June 6, Deputy Sheriff Brandon K. Heller of the Clarion County Sheriff’s Office was on the lookout for Dustin Hawk in Rimersburg Borough. Hawk, who was wanted by law enforcement, was spotted on Chestnut Street wearing a light gray or white hoodie, blue shorts, and a black backpack. Sheriff Heller observed Hawk fleeing into the Medardo Estates’ parking lot area, prompting a response from other law enforcement units in the area.

A perimeter was set up, and the area was thoroughly searched by officers. Hawk was eventually located in the laundry room of Medardo Estates and was taken into custody. A black backpack, which Hawk was seen carrying, was found in the room during a search incident to arrest. Hawk, who is on Clarion County Probation and Parole, was transported to the Clarion County Jail where he was lodged on his warrant for absconding supervision.

Hawk appeared in front of Judge Miller on Friday, June 21, for arraignment.
