The accused have been identified as Durgesh Shinde (37) from Shrirampur in Ahmednagar district, who is a firearms supplier, and Pravin Ovhal alias Dollar (32) from Khed taluka, with a history of bank robbery and murder charges against him.

The crime branch team, led by inspector Jitendra Kadam, took Shinde into custody on June 25 from Chinchwad after receiving information from police constable Jayawant Raut. Ovhal’s involvement came to light during Shinde’s interrogation, leading to his subsequent arrest from Khed.
