The Jefferson County medical examiner in Birmingham, Alabama, has identified the victim of a deadly shooting in Avondale as 34-year-old Dianisleidy Rodriguez Hernandez from Cuba. The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, leading to the untimely death of Hernandez.
Birmingham Police announced on Friday that a suspect, identified as 44-year-old Johnny Ray Sears, is in custody for the murder of Rodriguez. The authorities responded to the scene at an apartment building in the 4200 block of 5th Avenue South around 4:40 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found Rodriguez unresponsive near an apartment, having sustained a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of medics, she was pronounced dead at the scene. There were reports of shots being fired, and a person of interest has been detained by the police for further questioning.
