SEATTLE — Homicide detectives from the Seattle Police Department are currently conducting an investigation into the delayed death of a reported car prowler who was injured by the car owner and later passed away at the hospital.

According to reports, on June 24, authorities responded to a call regarding a car prowl at a parking garage in North Seattle, specifically in the 6900 block of East Green Lake Way North. Upon arrival, they discovered an unconscious man, aged 35, who was promptly transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Further details revealed that the car owner had interrupted the reported car prowler, leading to a physical altercation between the two individuals. Tragically, on June 28, the 35-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Subsequent investigations by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office on July 3 determined that the man’s cause of death was attributed to a lack of oxygen to the brain, resulting from a choke hold. As a result, his death has been officially ruled a homicide.
