Seattle Police Department homicide detectives are currently conducting a delayed death investigation following a tragic incident involving a reported car prowler. The individual, who was injured by the car owner during a confrontation, has sadly passed away at the hospital.

The incident took place on June 24 in a parking garage located in North Seattle, specifically in the 6900 block of East Green Lake Way North. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the 35-year-old man in an unconscious state. He was promptly transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

It was revealed that the car owner had interrupted the reported car prowler, leading to a physical altercation between the two parties. Tragically, on June 28, the 35-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Medical Examiner’s Ruling

Following an investigation by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office on July 3, it was determined that the cause of death was attributed to a lack of oxygen to the brain, which resulted from a chokehold during the altercation. The death has been officially classified as a homicide.

Homicide Detectives Assigned

As a result of the ruling, homicide detectives have been assigned to the case to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. At present, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

Victim Identified

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Cameron Lewis Heriford, whose life was tragically cut short in this unfortunate turn of events.
