Authorities in Los Angeles County, California, have identified three individuals who tragically lost their lives in a fiery car crash in Castaic. The driver of the vehicle, who was allegedly driving under the influence, survived the crash and is currently hospitalized and in custody.

Victims Identified

The California Highway Patrol has reported that the three individuals who were fatally injured in the crash were a 22-year-old man from Castaic, along with a male and a female whose ages have not been disclosed. The victims have been identified as Brian White, aged 22; Quinell Shelton, a 15-year-old boy; and Nylah Blanchard, a 16-year-old girl. The cities where the teenagers resided are currently unknown.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Taylor Roberson, 19, from Redlands, was taken to the hospital for treatment of major injuries. Roberson has been arrested, with potential charges pending, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Details of the Crash

The tragic incident occurred on The Old Road at around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The silver 2010 Toyota Camry, carrying the passengers, was travelling northbound on The Old Road in Castaic when the driver lost control of the vehicle at a curve in the roadway. The Camry crashed into a tree, split in half, and then collided with a light pole before catching fire.

Despite the severity of the crash, the driver managed to extricate themselves from the vehicle. Unfortunately, all three passengers were ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department due to multiple traumatic injuries.

DUI Investigation

The California Highway Patrol conducted a DUI investigation and determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, leading to the fatal injuries sustained by the passengers. The driver displayed signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication, resulting in the tragic outcome of the accident.
