Accident – Death – Obituary News : A man from Dorchester is facing a charge of indecent assault and battery on a person under 14 after allegedly taking an “upskirt” photo of an 11-year-old girl last month. Agustin Jaramillo, 28, was ordered held on $500 bail at his arraignment this week and is scheduled to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing on September 24.

The incident occurred on June 6 when Boston police received a report from a student at Conservancy Lab Charter School in Dorchester, as per a release from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office. The student reported that a man, later identified as Jaramillo, approached her as she was walking to a bus stop that morning. He handed her a cord and asked for help tying a knot. Subsequently, he allegedly bent down, told the girl he was going to adjust her sock, and used his cellphone to take a photo up her skirt before touching her leg.

Describing the man as being in his 30s with a mustache, wearing a black t-shirt and white shorts, and carrying a white plastic shopping bag, the girl’s detailed description helped police in identifying the suspect. Surveillance footage from cameras in the area also showed a man matching the description interacting with the victim on Wainwright Street.

Following the distribution of still photos of the suspect to the public, a tip identifying the man as Jaramillo was received on June 27, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant two days later. Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden commended the young girl for speaking up about the incident, stating, “This young girl deserves great credit for relaying to school officials what happened to her that morning. That information, along with valuable assistance from a community member, helped police make an identification and arrest. This is yet another example of the community working with law enforcement to increase safety for all.”

In light of these developments, it is essential for communities to remain vigilant and supportive of victims of such crimes. By working together with law enforcement, individuals can help ensure the safety and well-being of all members of society..
