(Beaver Dam) A road rage incident escalated into a dangerous high-speed pursuit in Beaver Dam on the July 4th Holiday. The Beaver Dam Police Department, in collaboration with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, launched an investigation into the incident that unfolded on Thursday. According to reports, a suspect aggressively chased the complainant in their vehicle, leading to a series of alarming events.

Fireworks and Firearms Involved

The situation took a frightening turn when the suspect ignited and hurled fireworks at the complainant, in addition to brandishing a firearm. The complainant was left shaken by the aggressive behaviour displayed by the suspect. Following the incident, a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle was provided to law enforcement, leading to its discovery at a business premises in the 100 block of Monroe Street.

Pursuit and Surrender

Officers attempted to pull over the suspect’s vehicle, but the individual chose to flee, prompting a high-speed pursuit. Given the earlier reports of a firearm being involved and the potential threat to public safety, law enforcement made the decision to pursue the suspect. The chase eventually led outside the city limits, where the suspect’s vehicle came to a stop on County Highway A.

The suspect exited the vehicle and made their way into a flooded area of a nearby field. It was there that the suspect disposed of a firearm, ammunition, and holster by discarding them into the water. The suspect later surrendered to authorities and was taken into custody. Following an extensive search, the firearm and related items were successfully recovered.

Charges and Resolution

The 20-year-old suspect, a resident of Beaver Dam, now faces a slew of charges, including Felony Fleeing, Recklessly Endangering Safety, Possession of Marijuana, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Disorderly Conduct with the Use of a Dangerous Weapon. The Beaver Dam Police Department and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office worked in tandem to bring this alarming incident to a safe resolution, assuring the public that there is no ongoing danger at this time.
