Warren Baker : “Warren Baker Identified as Decomposed Body Found in US Steel Pump House on Collins Street, Joliet”

JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) — A man who had been reported missing was tragically found deceased in a pump house in a south suburban area, as confirmed by the Will County Coroner’s Office.

A group consisting of three men and one woman were reportedly engaged in some form of exploration at the US Steel property located at 941 Collins Street at approximately 6:47 p.m. on Tuesday.

During their exploration inside the pump house, they made a grim discovery of a body floating in four to five feet of water, according to Joliet police.

The group acted swiftly and promptly dialed 911 to report the distressing finding.

Joliet Fire officials were summoned to the scene and successfully retrieved the body of the deceased individual, who was identified as Warren Baker. The 44-year-old man had been declared missing since May 13.

Authorities revealed that Baker, who was experiencing homelessness, was last seen in the 400-block of East Cass Street on April 28.

The cause of Warren Baker’s death is currently undisclosed, pending further investigation.
