In an effort to support America’s families of fallen soldiers, the ‘Freedom 4 Miler’ event took place this morning in Tequesta, Florida. The event, with a Christmas in July theme, aimed to bring hope and help to Gold Star Families by raising funds to provide Christmas gifts for children who have lost a parent serving in the military.

Believe With Me, the organization behind the event, is dedicated to supporting Gold Star Families year-round. The CEO & founder, Lyette Reback, highlighted the importance of remembering the sacrifices made for our country’s freedom.

With around 1200 participants in this morning’s race, the winner of the ‘Freedom 4 Miler’ was 17-year-old Tommy Mooney from the Village of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Tommy completed the four-mile race in an impressive 21 minutes and 43 seconds, surpassing his brother who came in second place by one minute and 45 seconds.

Reflecting on his victory, Tommy Mooney shared, “My family is just on vacation, decided to hop into a little race, and have some fun… …I wasn’t really focused on the competition, just coming out here getting some aerobic benefit and that’s all I could ask for.”

Despite the challenging humidity, Tommy pushed through and emerged victorious in the race.
