Accident – Death – Obituary News : The Ukiah Police Department recently issued a press release detailing an investigation into a burglary at Oak Manor School. The incident, which occurred on 26th June 2024, involved the forced entry into the school’s Administrative Building, where food items were reportedly stolen from the refrigerator.

Security cameras at Oak Manor School captured footage of a male individual moving around the campus at approximately 3:00 am on the day of the burglary. The suspect, who was seen wearing a hat, a backpack, and bright blue tennis shoes, was believed to be the perpetrator of the crime.
Following the incident, Ukiah Police Department officers spotted a man matching the suspect’s description in the parking lot of the Super 8 motel on South Orchard Avenue. The individual, later identified as Sixto Ramos O’Connell, a former resident of Eureka and current Ukiah transient, attempted to evade the officers by fleeing on a blue bicycle.
Several days later, on 29th June 2024, the same UPD Officer encountered Ramos O’Connell at the Quick Stop gas station on Airport Park Boulevard. The suspect was still in possession of the distinctive clothing and his blue bicycle. Subsequently, Ramos O’Connell was apprehended and taken into custody for questioning.
During the interrogation, Ramos O’Connell admitted to the burglary at Oak Manor School and was subsequently arrested. A search of his backpack uncovered numerous baggies of controlled substances and a significant amount of cash. As a result, Ramos O’Connell was charged with burglary of an uninhabited dwelling and possession of controlled substances for the purpose of sales.
