In a heartbreaking turn of events, a woman and her son-in-law were discovered deceased at their residence in Vandithadam, Kovalam. The victims have been identified as Shyamala (76) and her son-in-law Sabulal (50). They resided on rent in a house near Vandithadam Veterinary Hospital on Varnam Road. The tragic discovery was made by their maid at 7 am. Initial reports suggest that they may have taken their own lives.
Tragically, Sabulal’s wife had passed away just a month prior to this incident. He had been battling cancer for approximately a year and was reportedly struggling with depression, according to relatives.
The police suspect that Sabulal may have taken the extreme step of ending his life after fatally harming his mother-in-law. A suicide note bearing the message ‘taking mother also’ was found at the scene. Sabulal’s body was found hanging, while Shyamala was discovered lifeless on the ground. Authorities have launched an investigation into this distressing incident.
