Serenity Kinsey : Tragic Loss: 7-Year-Old Found Dead in Lake

DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT/WSMV/Gray News) – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the heartbreaking discovery of the body of 7-year-old Serenity Kinsey, who went missing in Tennessee. Serenity, who had autism, was reported missing by her family after they noticed she had left her home on Indian Creek Road during the night.

Authorities believe that Serenity may have left her home as early as 1 a.m. Her fondness for water and proximity to Douglas Lake raised concerns about her safety, prompting a search that tragically ended with the discovery of her body.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert for Serenity on Thursday morning, mobilizing search efforts to locate the missing girl. Divers located Serenity’s body not far from her home, bringing a devastating end to the search.

Sheriff Jeff Coffey expressed his condolences to Serenity’s family and the community, stating, “This is a tragic loss, and our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. We are grateful for the efforts of all involved in the search and recovery process.”
