Hyderabad: In a heartbreaking incident that unfolded in Telangana, a five-year-old girl named Riyanshika tragically lost her life after a pen pierced her head, causing a fatal infection.
Reports suggest that the young girl, a resident of Bhadrachalam, accidentally fell from a cot while playing with a pen at home, resulting in the pen penetrating her head in the temporal region near her left ear.
Upon seeing the girl bleeding profusely, her family immediately rushed her to the Government Area Hospital in Bhadrachalam, Telangana. Subsequently, she was transferred to a private hospital in Khammam for further medical intervention.
Under the care of a skilled neurosurgeon at the hospital, the pen was successfully removed from the girl’s head through a delicate surgical procedure. However, complications arose post-surgery when an infection developed in her brain.
Despite the medical team’s best efforts, the infection proved to be fatal, and Riyanshika tragically succumbed to the complications, passing away on Wednesday.
