A 74-year-old man was taken into custody in Portland on Wednesday morning after allegedly brandishing a knife and engaging in a physical altercation with a probation officer.
The incident unfolded around 10 a.m. in the vicinity of southwest Harvey Milk and 6th Street, prompting a response from officers with the Portland Police Bureau (PPB). According to reports, the man, later identified as Reggie D. Leinweber, was apprehended by a Parole and Probation officer at the scene.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
PPB officials revealed that Leinweber was allegedly seen wielding a knife and making threatening gestures towards multiple individuals in the area. Among the victims were four individuals whose identities are known, as well as one unidentified person. Notably, one of the known victims was the Parole and Probation officer, while another was a security guard in uniform.
In addition to other charges, Leinweber is now facing allegations of aggravated assault for reportedly spitting on the Parole and Probation officer during the confrontation.
