An Opelika man, Mason Chadwick Morgan, 46, has been arrested twice in two days on multiple child pornography charges in Lee County, Alabama.
First Arrest
The first arrest of Morgan took place on Tuesday when authorities executed a search warrant at his residence in the 1400 block of Alabama Highway 51. He was charged with three counts of possession of child pornography and was later released from jail on a $30,000 bond.
Second Arrest
Further investigation by Lee County deputies revealed that Morgan had additional child sexual abuse material. Subsequently, he was arrested again on Wednesday and charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography.
Case Background
This case originated from a cyber tip received by investigators in December from the Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce. The tip indicated that an individual in Lee County was downloading child sexual abuse material.
Current Status
Morgan is currently being held in the Lee County Detention Center on an $80,000 bond.
