TIRUNELVELI: Father and son arrested for murder
Police in Pappakudi, Tirunelveli, have arrested a 50-year-old man and his 19-year-old son in connection with the brutal murder of a 20-year-old man named Victor. The victim, a resident of Seithunganallur in Thoothukudi district, was allegedly in a romantic relationship with the daughter of one of the accused, Kasi. This relationship had caused tension between the two families, ultimately leading to Victor’s tragic demise.
On the fateful day, Victor visited Pappakudi to meet Kasi’s daughter, sparking a violent altercation that ended in his untimely death. Kasi and his son Selvam are accused of hacking Victor to death in a fit of rage over the forbidden romance.
The Pappakudi police swiftly responded to the incident, recovering Victor’s body and sending it to the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital for a postmortem examination. The authorities are now conducting a thorough investigation to bring justice to the victim and his grieving family.
Juvenile among four suspects apprehended for separate murder case
In a separate incident in Moondradaippu, four individuals, including a juvenile, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of a 30-year-old auto-rickshaw driver named Muthu Selvan. The victim, hailing from Elanthoppu village near Nanguneri, was found dead near Soorappapuram village under suspicious circumstances.
Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, Ramalingam, the police launched an investigation which led to the apprehension of Balasekar, Suresh, Perumal, and a juvenile suspect. It was revealed that the murder was motivated by past conflicts and enmity between the parties involved.
The three adult suspects have been remanded to judicial custody after appearing before the magistrate, while the juvenile offender has been placed in a government-run facility. The authorities are committed to pursuing justice and ensuring that those responsible for these heinous crimes are held accountable.
